Papua New Guinea Coffee
Papua New Guinea, lying just north of Australia, is the second largest island in the world. -- one half of the island being the nation of Papua New Guinea and the other half the Indonesian province of Irian Jaya. Coffee production originated in Papua New Guinea apparently with the introduction of Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee seedlings in 1927. Most Papua New Guinean coffee is organically grown by small farmers organized into co-ops to share the coffee processing facilities. Papua New Guinea coffee is well-balanced with an earthy body, sweet acidity and a complex fruity aroma.
